Rick Gallant is an Ottawa native and relatively new to the art scene. With no formal training and ambitious intentions, his formative years as an aspiring artist favoured pencil and pen and ink drawings. He was apprehensive about painting in colour until his foray into acrylic painting.

Today Rick paints for leisure and also to sell his work. His style leans towards landscapes and wildlife painted from photographs that inspire him and the strokes that go into his paint brush.

Rick credits his high school art teacher - who always told him that if you can draw, you can paint - for adding over 30 new paintings to his collection.
